PAUL SCHIEK

American, born 1977

Sometimes fate steps in and whispers gently into your ear… “I will give you something special.”

You can plan and you can educate, you can prepare for what it is that you see looming in your head. You can think about what it is that you want to do. You can build up your ideas and your concept as a mountain of planning, layers upon layers of justification and as a framework for your looming materialization.

You think, you plan, you think some more, isn’t it grand? And then one day all of your plans mean nothing and fate and the mystery come together to give you magic and so much, much more than just something. They give you the World in a Picture.

Paul Schiek, Mike Brodie and Fate met up one glorious day. They formed a team and together and the three of them made something wonderful. In the form of a little instant square that comes out of a little Mystery Box, the magic arrived!

There will be much, more room for magic in this thing that we call photography. Fate will come when you least expect it and voila, the magic will arrive. Prepare for it to come but don’t rely on it. Treat it as a special little present, one that you deserve. There is only so much of it around so keep on truckin’ and one day, it will visit you too!

Regards,

Doug Rickard
