JON EDWARDS: "Creature Feature"

Jon Edwards is a human-Francis-Bacon'esque-fish out of water. Like the genius savant that is Francis Bacon, distorted visions seem to trump notions of sanity. His wide-awake dreams flow freely and with each frame comes a beautiful-aquatic-Neptunian-alternate-reality that is overflowing with sleep-deprived-sea-creature-humanoids prowling-for-flesh & hunting-for-liquid-love. But hush... just look, don't speak... don't ask your silly little questions... speak not, for you will taint that which is grand.

Resistance is futile for this Moby Dick-Lady of the Lake-Swan Princess oceanic one-man-tour-de-force-show.

Yo, Contemporary Photography World, Oh Ye of Little Creativity... Step Off.

Bravo.

Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Birthdays, et cetera. I got a small grant, and began taking photographs every Saturday for a year, so basically Suburbia was shot in 52 days..."

ANTHONY HERNANDEZ - "Phantoms and Dreams, Ghosts and Grit..."
"The 1970’s photographs of Anthony Hernandez possess something stupendous, something despairing and faint... lusciously strange… something that is fleeting, or maybe some would say… “hard to pin down”. Of course the aesthetic is godsmackingly gorgeous in its bleak ugliness…"
